James Rodriguez has again publicly expressed his interest in remaining with Real Madrid long-term.

James joined Madrid for €80 million following the 2014 World Cup but has not been a regular starter over the last 18 months.

AS claims that he now wishes to extend his current contract, which runs until 2020, with the possibility of improving his €7.7 million a year salary.

"Always when I get a chance [to play] I try and do well," James said. "That is all I have in mind. I want to stay here [Madrid] forever. You must be aware that in life and in football you never what will happen, but I want to stay here."

Real Madrid have been linked to a move for Eden Hazard of Chelsea with James and Isco departing to help finance the move.
