Manchester City are prepared to make a major spend in the January transfer market.

Guardiola brought in five new players in the summer -- Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Leroy Sane, John Stones and Claudio Bravo -- with a further three new signings -- Aaron Mooy, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Marlos Moreno -- all sent out on loan.

City's forward line will be further supplemented in January when Brazilian 19-year-old Gabriel Jesus completes his switch to the Etihad Stadium from Palmeiras.

City won't hesitate to make another expensive signing.

Mahmoud Dahoud and Arturo Vidal have been linked to City recently while they can also improve central defense by renewing a bid for Leonardo Bonucci. All three players, however, would be unavailable in the Champions League.
