Chelsea has offered John Terry a one-year contract extension.

Terry and his agent met the club’s hierarchy this week to discuss his future at the club and it was widely expected he would be released at the expiry of his latest one-year deal.

Terry will weigh Chelsea’s proposal against those he has received from elsewhere, including China. The Chinese Super League clubs Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu Suning have reportedly expressed an interest.

Terry joined Chelsea at the age of 14.
