David Villa is receiving interest on returning to Spain after New York City FC did not qualify for the playoffs.

"Now they are calling me from all sides, from when we mathematically couldn't be in the play-offs, they have called me although it doesn't mean that I will back on loan, hypothetically," he said on El MUrcielago on Levante TV.

Villa has been linked to a loan deal to Barcelona beginning in January.

Villa most recently played in La Liga for Atletico Madrid.
