David De Gea is worried about being left out of the side after his move to Real Madrid collapsed on transfer deadline day, while AS reports that the goalkeeper wants to extend his Manchester United contract to reclaim his No. 1 spot.

When asked about De Gea's reported concerns at being left out, a United spokesman told the Press Association: "Those reports are absolute rubbish, the team will always be picked solely on merit."

De Gea's current deal with United expires at the end of the season.
