Mario Balotelli said it was "a pleasure to be back" as he paid his former AC Milan teammates a visit on Tuesday.

Balotelli was on a two-day leave from Liverpool.

Balotelli posted a picture of him with former teammate Stephan El Shaarawy on Instagram, saying: "Milan, what a pleasure it is to see you all," adding a heart at the end of his message.

Balotelli left Milan last summer, but has struggled to make a meaningful impact for Liverpool.

Despite netting the winner against Tottenham Hotspur, he has still struggled for consistent minutes.

Although he scored 14 Serie A goals last season, Milan sold him last summer as part of a cost-cutting exercise at the Italian club.
