Lionel Messi sounded ambivalent about his future at Barcelona in public comments this week and a Goal.com report indicates he could consider leaving after the current season.

Barcelona reportedly considered an offer from Paris Saint-Germain last season and would be open to contemplating a move again.

Messi believes the current board of Barcelona signed Neymar an an eventual replacement to Messi.

Messi said that Barca have "sufficient quality players to win trophies this season" but remains unconvinced both by Luis Enrique and the current sporting project.

Messi's father responded to his son's comments in the media.

"There is nothing in it," Jorge is quoted as saying by La Vanguardia.

"The thought is to stay here but what people are reading between the lines is exaggerated.

"Messi is happy. It's obvious that if the club gets an offer and say: 'We want to sell you', he will have to study it.

"Today, there are no thoughts of leaving Barcelona."
