Chelsea still own the copyright to the name of Jose Mourinho despite firing him in December.
The trademark to use Mourinho's name and image on a whole host of branded products and merchandise runs for Chelsea until June of 2023.
It can be easily cancelled or transferred to United but Chelsea may request a significant fee.
Mourinho is expected to eventually be named manager of United.
