Barcelona players agreed to cut their wages while La Liga is suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club is facing millions of dollars in lost revenue without matches, while also having to close their museum that draws thousands of visitors per week.

Barcelona are using a labor legislation in Spain called ERTE that allows companies to temporary reduce wages during exceptional circumstances.

"Basically it is a reduction of the working day, imposed by the circumstances and the protection measures carried out, and, as a consequence, the proportional reduction of the remuneration provided for in the respective contracts," said the club in a statement.
