Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out for an uncertain period of time after damaging a ligament in his ankle against Flamengo in the Club World Cup final.

“You have three ligaments on the outside of the ankle, and Alex has one of them damaged. Now we will have to see how quickly we can fix it. It can take a while or be quite quick, but clearly he has no chance for Boxing Day and no chance for the rest of this year," said Jurgen Klopp.

Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a knee injury in April 2018 that kept him out until earlier this season.
