Former Atlanta United manager Tata Martino gave an optimistic outlook for the future of MLS, saying that the league can one day be as popular as the NBA.

"In Atlanta I felt like a kid playing video games. We put together a team from nothing and fortunately it all worked out. MLS is starting to be seen as a stepping stone to Europe. At some point MLS will have the same relevance as NBA, it's a great spectacle," said Martino.

The current Mexico national team manager also lamented not being able to pick Carlos Vela for his side.

"He says: 'I have these priorities and that's it.' I have to put up with it. I'd love to have him, but that's it," added Martino.
