Unai Emery appointed Granit Xhaka as the permanent captain of Arsenal after the Swiss midfielder won a players' vote.

Xhaka replaces Laurent Koscielny in the role.

"Xhaka is mature, he has experience. We are living under pressure and criticism; as a coach, as a player, as a club. The most important thing is to stand up in each moment," said Emery.

Sky Sports conducted their own poll amongst supporters for who they'd like to see as the next Arsenal captain, with Rob Holding coming out on top.
