The proposed site of Inter Miami's stadium has an unsafe level of arsenic contamination with more than twice the legal limit.

The stadium was part of a $1 billion, 131 acre commercial complex built on top of a city-owned golf course.

“Basically, the site has significantly more contamination than what is commercially reasonable,” said Miami mayor Francis Suarez.

The city was given 30 days to remove or replace the contaminated soil from the golf course.
