Ernesto Valverde said Barcelona have to accept their 4-0 collapse against Liverpool that knocked them out of the Champions League semifinals.

"They were better and we have to accept it. The scoreline was 4-0 and when that's the case there are no excuses. Their second goal hurt us massively and the third one came in straight after that. They played well, and we have to congratulate them for reaching the final," said Valverde.

The Barcelona manager said he was caught off-guard by Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner kick that lead to Liverpool's 4th goal.

"It surprised me and everyone. It was incredible and it puts us out. I guess they took it quickly and we didn't have time to set ourselves up. I didn't see it clearly because when I looked the ball was already in."
