Pep Guardiola backed Maurizio Sarri to come through on his vision at Chelsea despite their 6-0 loss to Guardiola's side.

"I know exactly what he (Sarri) wants to do. This type of person always helps to make our football better, and he tries to do it. They (Chelsea) beat us at Stamford Bridge, but people don't understand how difficult it is. My first year was difficult too," said Guardiola.

Guardiola then added that Sarri needs backing from upstairs to realize his vision.

"[Sarri] needs time and that depends on the believers, the owners, people in charge. The only reason I came to City, the chairman and the people here, they believe in me and don't think badly when I lose. That's why I am so happy at this club."
