Manchester United is hopeful of signing David de Gea to an extension following Real Madrid's acquisition of Thibaut Courtois.

De Gea has been a long time target for United.

In the aftermath of his failed move to Madrid in 2015, De Gea signed a new contract at Old Trafford. That deal expires in one year.

United are hopeful of agreeing a five-year contract with De Gea, which would keep him at the club well into his 30s and guarantee a testimonial.
