Arsenal has identified Joachim Low as their leading candidate to replace Arsene Wenger if he doesn't return for the 18-19 season.

Wenger's standing with Arsenal has severely weakened over the past few weeks.

Some senior players of Arsenal have lost faith in Wenger and believe a chance is needed.

Wenger signed a two-year deal after winning last season's FA Cup over Chelsea.

Monaco's Leonardo Jardim and Celtic's Brendan Rodgers also have support in some quarters of Arsenal but Low is the preferred contract.

Low is under contract with the German national football association (DFB) until the end of Euro 2020, but there is a belief within the game that he could be tempted to take on the challenge of club management after the World Cup.
