Rayo Vallecano has fired Ruben Baraja as manager.

"The club must thank [Baraja] for his professionalism and we wish him the best in the future," said Rayo Vallecano in an official statement.

Rayo Vallecano were relegated after the 15-16 season and are in danger of dropping down below the second division.
