Italy has hired Giampiero Ventura to succeed Antonio Conte as manager after Euro 2016.

Conte is leaving Italy to become manager of Chelsea.

Ventura’s tenure at Torino was brought to an end by mutual consent on 25 May, after five years at the club, and the national job will be his 21st since his first move into management in 1976 with the Sampdoria youth team.

Ventura’s spell at Torino was largely successful, in his first season he led the club back to Serie A, while he has since been replaced by Sinisa Mihajlovic.
