Manchester United has denied reports that a deal is already in place with Louis van Gaal to become their next manager.

The English club said in a statement: “We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it.”

Van Gaal will manager the Netherlands at the World Cup and then he intends to return to club management.
