Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a thigh issue in training but Zinedine Zidane insists he'll still play in the Champions League Final this weekend against Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo hurt his left thigh when colliding with Kiko Casilla following a push from Dani Carvajal and, after receiving treatment on the field, threw a water bottle in anger as he headed for the changing rooms.

“There’s not going to be any problems that Cristiano Ronaldo goes in to the final at 100%," said Zidane. "On Saturday he didn’t play a game we played between ourselves as precaution. We’ll see how he is today, but he’ll be ready for Saturday.

“We’re going in to it on form, as we should be, but this doesn’t mean anything. James [Rodríguez] is also a bit better and so is [Alvaro] Arbeloa. The only bad one is Varane and that is serious.

“He is now out for Saturday. He may not be ready in two or three weeks. It is less serious than we thought. He will travel but will not play on Saturday.

“With regard to the selection I hope he can play the Euros. It’s a blow for him and I’m worried about him.”
