Hoffenheim has hired 28-year-old Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager.

Nagelsmann had been hired to take the role in July, but Huub Stevens stepped down due to heart problems.

Nagelsmann, who the club expect will pass his senior coaching examinations soon, said: "It's a big challenge, of course, made harder by the current points situation. But I am looking forward to working with the team."

Nagelsmann is the youngest manager in the history of the Bundesliga.

Nagelsmann was a youth player until he was injured at the U-19 level.
