Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has reported Zlatan Ibrahimovic as applied for a long-term visa for the United States, fuelling speculation he will move to MLS.

Ibrahimovic, 33, reportedly went to the U.S. embassy in Paris on March 19 to apply for the visa, which the Swede would not require if he were only visiting the country as a tourist.

"We cannot comment on individual cases," Aftonbladet cites a U.S. embassy official as stating, though added the same official confirmed Ibrahimovic had been to the embassy.

Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract extension two years ago, taking him through 2016 at Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic has previously said that PSG will be the last European club he plays for.
