Barcelona defeated Real Madrid by a final score of 4-3 in the second El Clásico of the 13-14 season.

With the three points, Barcelona is now one behind Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid. Atlético is technically in first place on head-to-head over Real.

Andrés Iniesta scored the first goal on a brilliant diagonal pass from Lionel Messi.

Ángel Di María and Karim Benzema connected on goals in the 20th and 24th minute. Gerard Piqué saved Barcelona from allowing a third Benzema goal with a save with his foot at goal.

Messi evened up the score just a few minutes before halftime.

Real went up 3-2 in the 55th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo drew a foul on Dani Alves at the edge of the area.

Neymar drew a foul on Sergio Ramos that led to a converted penalty kick for Messi and a red card for Ramos. Iniesta drew a penalty in the 84th minute, which was converted again by Messi for his hat-trick and the all-important three points for Barcelona.

There were seven yellow cards given in the match along with the red card for Ramos.

Barcelona had 68 percent of the possession and Messi (10.0) and Iniesta (9.1) had the best WhoScored ratings.
