Jose Mourinho Interested In Ligue 1 Move

Mar 27, 2019 5:49 PM

Jose Mourinho said that he wouldn't turn down an opportunity to coach in Ligue 1.

"If I say that I don't want to go to Ligue 1 then I wouldn't be honest with you. If I say that I do then you'll start to speculate about the clubs that could interest me. I can go back to a country where I've worked before, or try to go to a fifth country and win everything, like I have in other places, which would be important," said Mourinho.

Reports have linked Mourinho to Monaco and Lyon.

Mar 13, 2019 1:08 PM

Nabil Fekir said that Lyon should draw inspiration from other surprise results in the Champions League round of 16.

“There have been surprises in this round, and why can we not do the same. We know there is nothing for us to lose here, we can go and play without fear because we know we too have great players who are full of confidence," said Fekir.

Fekir added that he relishes the pressure of big matches.

“This is a huge game for the club and for me personally, playing at this stage of the tournament has always been a dream for me and it gives me the pressure I want. This will be a special game but it is one we all want to play in.”

Ernesto Valverde: Barcelona Not Thinking About What Happened Last Year

Mar 13, 2019 12:59 PM

Ernesto Valverde warned his side to not take Lyon lightly ahead of their second-leg match in the Champions League rond of 16.

“Lyon will come here with their weapons, they’ve got a very strong attack – very quick, powerful players up front and I’m sure they’ll try to exploit that. They know how important it would be for them to get an away goal tomorrow, so I’m sure they’ll look for that too," said Valverde.

Valverde added that his side are not affected by Roma's comeback in last year's competition.

“Look, we’re not worrying too much about what happened a year ago, we’ve spoken enough about that. We’re just worried about tomorrow’s game. Last year happened. The other Champions League games are very important to appreciate what the other teams are like and it’s a reminder that there are no small teams."

Bruno Genesio: Lyon Need To Play Perfect Match Versus Barcelona

Mar 13, 2019 12:55 PM

Bruno Genesio cited Lyon's win over Manchester City as inspiration in their second-leg match against Barcelona.

“We will need a perfect match to qualify, but we can do it. Look at the game we played at Manchester City where we deservedly won – this will be a different game but the difficulty level is the same, and that will inspire us," said Genesio.

The manager added that his side will not man-mark Messi.

“Lionel Messi is incredible, but we do not plan to man-mark him individually and will look at other ways to limit the potential damage he can inflict upon us. Barcelona have so many quality players that we must not focus on just one.”
