Antoine Griezmann Doesn't See Himself Leaving Atletico

Dec 21, 2016 12:22 PM

Antoine Griezmann has no plans to leave Atletico Madrid despite links to Arsenal.

"For Arsenal, he speaks to me about it often. But I'm good in Madrid. I don't want to leave. I'm happy here," replied Griezmann.

"I have just had a little girl, I play my games, I'm good. Sorry, I'm going to stay. But Arsenal are a good team, they play good football."

Griezmann is under contract through 2021.

Griezmann also has no plans on leaving Atletico for Real Madrid.

"I'm so good at Atletico. Honestly, I don't see myself leaving," he stated. "People often talk to me about England too, but I'm good here. And also, going from Atletico to Real must be difficult. I don't necessarily have the desire to try, nor to ask those who have already done it. No, I'm not thinking about it."

Diego Simeone: Still At Atletico 'Because I Want To Be'

Dec 19, 2016 1:57 PM

Diego Simeone is approaching his five-year anniversary as manager of Atletico Madrid and he insists this is the club he wants to manage.

Simeone has been linked with a move to Inter Milan and shortened his contract to two years where it expires in 2018.

"I haven't seen my kids every day for five years, so if I am still here it is because I want to be," he said ahead of Tuesday's Copa del Rey tie against Guijuelo.

"It isn't easy to keep working and improving after five years at this level.

"I hope we keep coming out of the dressing room with the same energy until everything is said and done."

Atleti lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League Final.

"I think it was a very important year for the club, for the players and for the fans," said Simeone.

"The best thing about football is that it transmits emotions - after that you can win, lose or draw.

"But I believe the most important thing and what stays with you are the emotions you can transmit to your people and your club. I think this group did it again.

"I feel like I thrive when facing difficulties but we need to be more consistent in LaLiga.

"We will go as far as we want to through our work ethic, perseverance and willpower."
