Eden Hazard: This Was Worst Season Of My Career

Jul 19, 2020 12:46 PM

Eden Hazard admitted that this season was the worst of his career after struggling with an ankle injury.

"This year we won the title collectively. For me, at an individual level, I've had the worst season of my career for sure," said Hazard.

The 29-year-old had ankle surgery in March. He has appeared in six matches following the restart, though has also been left out of the squad three times.

Hazard heaped praise onto Zinedine Zidane.

"He has proven, in just a few years, that he is already one of the best. He is a simple person who knows how to say things at the right time. He trusts his players and his players trust him, that's why it works."

Charlotte, Sacramento Republic FC, St. Louis Debut Seasons Delayed

Jul 18, 2020 5:05 PM

The inaugural MLS seasons for Charlotte, Sacramento Republic FC, and St. Louis will be pushed back one year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charlotte will make its debut in 2022, with Sacramento and St. Louis now scheduled for 2023 debuts.

Austin FC are still set to debut in 2021.

"We have always taken a thoughtful and strategic approach to our expansion planning and have delivered successful launches for every new club. It is important for each club to take the necessary time to launch their inaugural MLS seasons the way their fans and communities deserve. With the extra year to make up for what has been a challenging 2020, these teams will be well-positioned for their debuts and for long-term success," said MLS commissioner Don Garber in a statement.
