Pep Guardiola complimented Riyad Mahrez's form following his performance against Everton.

“All this season he is playing outstanding. The action on the first goal, the second one, the two assists he did, one especially to Raheem. His commitment defensively. One year he was the best player in the league so is an exceptional player. I’m happy for him because he’s playing at an incredible level," said Guardiola.

Mahrez scored a free kick in City's 3-1 win.

Mahrez has started five matches for the team thus far this season.

“He has the feeling when he gets that ball in that position, the 18-yard box close to the area, something is going to happen. It’s a feeling and I think all the spectators can have that feeling and that is because he has a gift. He has something special," added Guardiola. 

Zinedine Zidane backed Eden Hazard to succeed with Real Madrid after a slow start to his La Liga career.

"I'm not going to give him any advice on how to play; he knows what we want from him and we know the player he is. We all have to remain calm, I'm not worried at all. He needs more time, we have to be calm with the players who have just arrived," said Zidane.

Zidane added that he also had difficulty adjusting to Real Madrid when he first joined the side.

"The same thing happened to me, yes. This is why I'm very calm, I knew things would work out for me in time and it's the same with Hazard.

Jose Mourinho opened up about his future managerial opportunities, ruling out a potential return to Serie A.

Mourinho has been out of a job since getting sacked last winter by Manchester United.

Emilio Alvarez has left his job as Manchester United goalkeeper coach, the club confirmed.

Alvarez came over from Spain along with David de Gea.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointed Richard Hartis as goalkeeping coach last summer. 

Neymar compared his relationship with PSG supporters with a romantic relationship.

Christian Pulisic opened up about his frustrations over a lack of playing time under Frank Lampard this season.

"Yeah, of course, it is very frustrating, but I will continue to work my hardest because I want to play," said Pulisic following Chelsea's 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Pulisic added that Lampard has not given him advice on how to get on the field.

“He just said keep working, and now I have to prove myself in training and try to get back in the line up.”

Unai Emery appointed Granit Xhaka as the permanent captain of Arsenal after the Swiss midfielder won a players' vote.

Frank Lampard said that Christian Pulisic needs time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.

"Pulisic we forget is 21, because of the price tag. It is normal to have an adaptation period. He has shown some good moments this season and in preseason, but he must do it daily," said Lampard.

Chelsea purchased Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for $66.5 million last season.

Pulisic has yet to score in 6 matches.

"He needs time to adapt, but we support him on that. His time will come," added Lampard. 

Carles Puyol turned down an opportunity to rejoin Barcelona as its sporting director.

“It has not been an easy decision, since I have always said that I would like to return to what I consider my home. But various personal projects in which I am immersed would prevent me, at this time, from giving the exclusive dedication that the position deserves. I would like to thank the club for the trust placed in me by offering me this position of so much responsibility," said Puyol on Twitter.

Barcelona have been without a sporting director since Pep Segura resigned in July.
