Joe Hart Joins West Ham On Season-Long Loan

Jul 16, 2017 6:21 PM

Joe Hart will join West Ham on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Hart spent most of last season on loan in Serie A with Torino after being told by Pep Guardiola in August he was no longer the No. 1 choice for Manchester City.

It is understood City will continue to pay some of Hart's wages.

Hart’s City contract does not expire until the summer of 2019 but he was keen to secure regular football in the season ahead to maintain his position as England’s No. 1 for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

“This shirt’s not mine,” he said last month. “It’s not nailed-on mine, it’s no one’s. We’ve got high-quality goalkeepers and I will have to be playing at the top level, to the maximum of my ability, even to get in the squad.

“I am not a robot. Sometimes I do have thoughts about it [the uncertainty]. But there is nothing to get down about.

“It’s another exciting adventure, another move, the next step in my career, the next challenge for me personally. I love personal challenges. I have never shied away from one and I don’t intend to now.”

Jul 12, 2017 7:48 PM

Bayern Munich have agreed to sell Douglas Costa to Juventus.

The deal is structured as a €6 million loan for the 17-18 season with an obligation to buy for €40 million.

Costa had an outstanding first season for Bayern after arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2015, but he didn't play as well under Carlo Ancelotti as he did for Pep Guardiola.

Bayern Agrees To Two-Year Loan Deal For James Rodriguez

Jul 12, 2017 7:48 PM

Bayern Munich have agreed upon a two-year loan deal with Real Madrid for James Rodriguez.

Bayern have the option to buy James at the end of the loan.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the Bayern chairman, said: “We are very happy that we have managed to conclude this transfer. The signing of James Rodríguez was the big wish from our manager, Carlo Ancelotti, after the two of them worked together successfully at Real Madrid.

“James is a very versatile player. He scores a lot of goals himself and is also able to set up goals and sets overall high standards. We have, without question, heightened the quality of the squad with this transfer.”

James had long been linked to Manchester United.
