Thiago Alcantara has tested positive for COVID-19.

"Thiago Alcantara has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines," Liverpool said in a statement.

"The club has, and will continue to follow, all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Thiago will remain in self-isolation for the required period of time."

Thiago moved to Anfield from Bayern Munich earlier this month.

Diego Simeone is asymptomatic after testing positive for COVID-19.

Simeone could miss the start of Atletico Madrid's season against Granada on Sunday, September 27th.

Simeone is currently isolating from home as his team undergoes preseason training camp.
