Aymeric Laporte Out One Month With Hamstring Injury

Feb 28, 2020 2:56 PM

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte will miss one month after injuring his hamstring against Real Madrid in their Champions League clash.

Laporte will miss the second leg.

“He has a hamstring injury, so that is normally three weeks or one month, more or less,” said Guardiola. “We tried to avoid it but unfortunately it has happened after four or five months out, then going directly into a big game. It sometimes happens.”

Guardiola added that he is managing off-field distractions as City face a two-year ban from the Champions League.

“Johan Cruyff told me once: ‘The problem with managers at big clubs is that 70% is issues off the pitch and 20-30% is on the pitch.’ At the time I thought he was crazy but he was true. You have to handle it.”

"Hendo is exceptionally important, not just football-wise, [but] it's a position where we can react, so we will react.

"Hopefully nothing else happens [to our midfielders] -- we still have options. There's a chance for all of them. But Hendo wouldn't have played every game between now and the end of season," said Jurgen Klopp.

Wilfred Ndidi Ruled Out Of Manchester City Match

Feb 20, 2020 12:53 PM

Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of Leicester City's clash against Manchester City.

Ndidi is still recovering from a knee injury.

Leicester will also be without midfielders Nampalys Mendy and Hamza Choudhury.

"They're three excellent players and obviously we have to find a strategy and a plan to come up with a game that can see us try and get three points," said Brendan Rodgers.

"Wilf has obviously played more, but all three give you that defensive solidity, which is important for any team. They're not available, so we can't worry about that."

Son Heung-Min Could Miss Season With Fractured Arm

Feb 18, 2020 12:47 PM

Son Heung-min could miss the rest of the Premier League season with a fractured arm.

Son suffered the injury in the first minute against Aston Villa. Spurs are already without Harry Kane.

Jose Mourinho said he couldn't imagine a worse situation without his two strikers.

“We are going to miss him. The club wrote a nice statement. If I was the one to write the statement I would write different. We miss him. The situation couldn’t be worse. That is obvious. There is nothing we can do.

“We are going to play with the players we have available. I was worried about not having attacking options on the bench – now I don’t have attacking options on the pitch."
