The 18-year-old U.S. international from Miami joined Barcelona's youth academy in 2014.
Barcelona plan on promoting de la Fuente to the B team for next season.
Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new manager of Tottenham, replacing Mauricio Pochettino.
The job represents Mourinho's return to the Premier League after getting sacked by Manchester United last winter.
Mourinho expressed his excitement at taking over a talented roster.
“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters. The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me," said Mourinho.
26-year-old striker Jerome Kiesewetter signed with Inter Miami.
Kiesewetter scored 12 goals for the El Paso Locomotive last season.
"Jerome brings speed, athleticism and experience to our roster. We are pleased to bring him to Inter Miami and begin working with him in preseason," said Inter Miami sporting director Paul McDonough.
The Portland Timbers signed centerback Dario Zuparic from HNK Rijeka.
The 27-year-old, whose contract was set to expire at the end of this season, was also being tracked by Fulham and Sheffield United.
The club are also close to bringing back Diego Valeri for next season.
The San Jose Earthquake signed 14-year-old goalie Emmanuel Ochoa to a homegrown professional contract.
Ochoa is the youngest MLS player since Freddy Adu.
"The work we have done to prepare ourselves for the future at the goalkeeping position gave us an opportunity to offer a contract to Emi, even at his young age. We have established players we are going to lean on for 2020 and the years to come, which will allow Emi to develop at his own pace with achievable goals year over year, including ones from an academic and life perspective," said Earthquake general manager Jesse Fioranelli.
The Quakes also signed 16-year-old defender Casey Walls to a homegrown contract last week.
The team has five players under the age of 18.
