Borussia Dortmund director Hans-Joachim Watzke said that a European Super League is inevitable.

"The revamp of the Champions League or the Super League is something that will come one way or another. What we have to do is make sure that, within it, our interests and German sentiments are taken into account as much as possible,” said Watzke.

With sentiment in the Bundesliga against a potential Super League, Watzke warned that its formation would be the end for German football.

"Germany is not the centre of the world; nobody should believe that they will accept 90 percent of our ideas. They will say: ‘stay on your own, we will make our league without you'," he added.
