Diego Simeone has conceded there is a possibility that the "incredible" Antoine Griezmann could leave Atletico Madrid this summer and says he would not stand in his way.

Manchester United are prepared to pay Griezmann's €100 million buyout clause.

When asked if the France international, who is contracted to Atletico until June 2021, could leave at the end of the season, Simeone told AS: "Yes, because there is a release clause and there are no guarantees. From here on in, I don't know what can happen."

Griezmann only signed a contract extension with Atletico last June, turning down a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the process.

"I spoke to him in the summer holidays, we spoke a lot and he stayed," Simeone said. "He told me that he would stay if I stayed. He then spoke to his agents to sign the [contract] documents."
