Manchester United's players have the highest wages in world soccer.

The average first-team pay at United is £5.77 million per year.

United are ranked fourth in the overall sporting pay league behind the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, who pay an average annual salary of $8.7 million (£6.9 million), baseball’s New York Yankees ($7.68 million) and another NBA team, the LA Clippers ($7.65 million).

Barcelona are the second highest football payers with an average annual salary of £5.65 million, followed by Manchester City on £5.4 million.

The NBA contains six of the world’s top 10 richest teams and 14 of the top 20.
