Ricardo Oliveira talked about the lack of No. 9's coming from Brazil in recent years.

"We are going through a modernization in football, but we are led by sight," said Oliveira. "There are selections playing with "Shirts 9" falling from the right, the left, leave the area. They always have. Players with little mobility aren't selected. The modern game moves us to follow this situation. It is difficult, today, for a guy to stand still waiting for the team to organize and prepare a move to end it. Football is very dynamic."

Oliveira cited examples of European strikers such as Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema.

"Benzema, Lewy,.. the game has changed... Now you must be mobile, drop, create space for those around you.

"[There is still room for No. 9's] provided they have a mature understanding of the game and an overall commitment to the collective."
