Football Competition Committee Judge Francisco Rubio this morning banned Zinedine Zidane for three months for failing to have the necessary qualifications.

Zidane is currently managing Real Madrid's B team.

The Zidane case is based on a complaint from Miguel Galán, representative for Spanish Coaches and head of the National Centre for Developing Coaches, who argued that the Frenchman was acting as coach of Castilla without the necessary Level 3 qualification demanded by the Spanish authorities. The National College of Coaches backed the complaint.

Zidane, who has complained about the treatment he has been receiving, currently has a UEFA ‘A’ Licence, equivalent to a Level 2 qualification.
