Danny Welbeck will be out for at least three months after undergoing surgery on his injured knee.
Welbeck last played for Arsenal on April 26th and the club hoped he could rehab the knee without surgery.
Arsene Wenger chose not to add to his options up front with even a temporary signing, as he was happy with Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sánchez and Joel Campbell.
