Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool will be back in a position to compete for the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool spent more than €100 million in remaking their roster following the sale of Luis Suárez.
Rodgers told reporters: "This season was always going to be difficult for us. We weren't going to challenge for the league this year. That was the reality.
"Next season we will be able to challenge for the league again."
