Paperwork involving Real Madrid's transfer for David De Gea reportedly arrived to the Spanish league office after the transfer deadline, meaning he will remain at Manchester United until at least January.

United will miss out on an agreed fee of £29 million.

The deal was also supposed to include Keylor Navas going to United.

The English club claim they have a time-stamp from FIFA as proof.

Sunderland has agreed to an £8 million transfer with Liverpool for Fabio Borini.

The 24-year-old Italian, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at the Stadium of Light but refused a mooted £14 million move back to Wearside last summer, has signed a four-year contract with the fee potentially rising to £10 million if a certain number of appearances are made and goals scored.

“Fabio is a great addition to the squad who will make our front line stronger,” said Dick Advocaat. “He can play in a number of attacking positions which is a huge benefit to the team.” 

Advocaat feels Borini is a perfect fit in his 4-3-3.

Valencia have signed Aymen Abdennour from Monaco for £22 million.

Abdennour was also a target for Chelsea.

"I chose Valencia out of all the offers I received because it is a big club in Spain and Europe," he said.

"I had no doubts. I am delighted to be joining the best league in the world."

Real Madrid and Manchester United have agreed to a deal involving David De Gea worth €30-€40 million.

De Gea's transfer to Real Madrid dominated headlines throughout the summer and seemed inevitable. De Gea could have left on a free transfer in the summer.

Keylor Navas will be included in the deal to go to United.

Wolfsburg has acquired Dante from Bayern Munich.

Dante asked for a transfer after losing his spot in Bayern's starting XI.

“Dante just wanted to have the chance to play regularly. We did not want to deny him this wish,” Bayern’s CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said in a statement.

Julian Draxler will join Wolfsburg from Schalke on a five-year deal.

Draxler will help Wolfsburg replace Kevin De Bruyne.

Draxler has long been linked to a move from Schalke with Arsenal frequently mentioned as a possible destination.

Borussia Dortmund have acquired Adnan Januzaj of Manchester United on a loan move.

Januzaj was unlikely to receive regular playing time with United.

Anthony Martial of Monaco will sign with Manchester United.

Martial, 19, has been linked with a £36 million move to United.

United moved on Martial after Monaco were eliminated from the Champions League.

Martial, who began his career at Lyon, has scored 13 goals in 60 games for Monaco but has been compared to Thierry Henry.

Javier Hernandez is being sold by Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen for £8.75 million.

Hernandez had an unsuccessful loan last season at Real Madrid and continued to not fit into Louis van Gaal's plans.

After receiving £22 million from Tottenham for Son Heung-min, Leverkusen have decided to move for Hernández on a permanent basis with the €12 million fee being reported by the German sports magazine Kicker.

Raheem Sterling scored his first EPL goal for Manchester City in their 2-0 win over Watford.

“Raheem played very well. He worked very hard and I’m sure he’ll score more goals," said Manuel Pellegrini. "He’s not just a scoring player, he works a lot in the game and is good at one-v-ones which is something we perhaps needed to improve on.
